Hugo leads the Compliance practice at Aventus. Having trained as a lawyer before transitioning into staffing and recruitment, where he initially gained experience in Legal & Compliance hiring across the UK, USA and GCC.

 

Professional Expertise:

Experience encompasses Compliance across the Banking, Buy side, FinTech, Crypto, Government and Semi-government markets as well as Commerce & Industry.

Hugo specializes in Compliance solutions across the GCC helping clients within: Financial Crime, Regulatory Change, Internal Audit, Governance, Risk, Digital Transformation and Automation.

Career Summary:

Recently Hugo has been partnering with Banking clients in the UAE and Saudi Arabia focussing on automation solutions to make Financial Crime systems more efficient.

 

Why recruitment?

Coming from a professional services background, recruitment provided the opportunity to work with and provide solutions for senior executives that wouldn’t have been available to me in a law firm environment.

The Crypto market has been a continued area of interest that keeps developing and providing new challenges for clients and regulators across the globe. As markets further adopt Crypto solutions the demand for robust Compliance programs will continue to grow.

 

What is your approach to recruitment / executive search?

My approach has always been to prioritise client needs; to better understand and anticipate them so a cost-effective solution can be found before any additional challenges arise.

 

Success Stories:

I previously worked with a client that had worked with a number of different agencies on a contingent basis trying to fill a difficult role over a period of 7 months. We proposed a retained solution and filled the role within 2 months.  

 

Fun Facts:

Since relocating Hugo has been playing padel and trying to get his handicap down.
